Summer Day Trips for Kentucky and Clarksville Residents

Sensational Sights

Our Clarksville and Kentucky residents are a short distance from some of the most beautiful sights in the US. Rock Island State Park is an 883 acre park featuring some of the best hiking trails, refreshing swimming spots, and breathtaking waterfalls, just over 2 hours away! The Caney Fork Gorge runs through the park offering kayaking opportunities and amazing scenery. There are even camping sites if you decide to stay the night.

Another great natural sight is the Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area, just an hour drive from most of our Kentucky and Clarksville residences. You'll find this 170,000 acre parkland easy to explore, with optimal hiking, boating, swimming, and camping spots located throughout the massive stretch of land. You can also learn about the solar system at the Golden Pond Planetarium.

Amazing Animals

Animal lovers rejoice! Our Kentucky and Clarksville residents are lucky to live near some unique and exciting spots to interact with animals. The Nashville Zoo at Grassmere, just over an hour away, features over 365 animal species, personal animal encounters, and the Historic Grassmere Home. The Kentucky Down Under Adventure Zoo, less than two hours away, is a real outback adventure! Go gem mining, stroll among the kangaroos, visit the petting zoo, or tour the Mammoth Onyx Cave.

When you want to slip a little learning in you summer vacation, plan to visit Mammoth Cave National Park. This amazing park features over 14 cave tours for all ages and abilities. Learn about forests, groundwater, and how caves are formed.

Another great learning adventure begins at the US Space Rocket Center, just over two hours from our Kentucky and Clarksville residences. This immersive space museum provides a captivating perspective on space exploration. Test your courage as you enter the Moon Shot space simulator or as you experience Apollo 11 in virtual reality. There is so much to do here, you'll want to stay the whole day!
